Overflow network
Overflow interpreting with partner organizations
When your own interpreters are busy, Intalingo sends the request to your partner organizations in the ranked order you set. Bring the partners you already work with, or partner with organizations in the Intalingo partner directory.
How it works
How a request overflows
Request arrives
An on-demand request comes in on your line.
Your team first
Intalingo offers it to your own available interpreters.
Partners in order
If none is available, it goes to your partners in the ranked order you set.
Partner answers
An interpreter from the partner organization takes the request.
Your negotiated rate
The rate you agreed with that partner applies, and the work appears on statements.
What is overflow interpreting?
Overflow interpreting sends a request to another organization's interpreters when your own team can't take it.
It lets an interpreting operation answer peaks, rare languages and off-hours requests without keeping enough staff on hand for the busiest moment.
Where do partners come from?
Bring the partners you already work with, or partner with organizations already listed in the Intalingo partner directory.
The partner directory is part of the product. Requests overflow only to partners you have chosen and ranked.
Intalingo does not provide interpreters itself. Every interpreter who answers a request works for you or for one of your partners.
How does overflow routing work in Intalingo?
You rank your partner organizations, and when your own interpreters are busy, Intalingo offers the request to partners in that order.
Who sets partner rates?
You and each partner do. Companies negotiate rates directly with their partners, and Intalingo has no say in them.
Intalingo records the rate you agreed with each partner and produces partner statements for overflow work, alongside your own billing.
How do you add a partner from the directory?
When you run short of your own interpreters, look through the partner directory, agree a rate directly with a partner, and partner with them in Intalingo so your overflow calls can go to them.
- Find: browse the directory for partner organizations with experienced interpreters in the languages you need.
- Negotiate: agree the rate directly with the partner. Intalingo is not part of that negotiation.
- Partner: connect with the partner in Intalingo.
- Rank: add them to your overflow order, and overflow calls start going to them when your own interpreters are busy.

Overflow network: common questions
Updated
No. Intalingo is software only. It does not hire, employ or provide interpreters: organizations route work to their own interpreters and to the partner organizations they choose.
Yes. Add your existing partners, or partner with organizations already listed in the Intalingo partner directory.
Look in the Intalingo partner directory for partner organizations with experienced interpreters, negotiate a rate with them directly, and partner with them. Your overflow calls then go to them when your own interpreters are busy.
The two organizations do. Rates are negotiated directly between a company and its partner; Intalingo has no say in them and records the agreed rate for billing and statements.
No. Overflow is optional. If you set no partners, requests stay with your own interpreters.
Overflow follows the same 24/7 routing as every on-demand request. Whether a partner answers depends on that partner's available interpreters.
