A Business Associate Agreement (BAA) is the contract HIPAA requires between a covered entity, such as a hospital or clinic, and a business associate that handles protected health information (PHI) on its behalf.
Intalingo signs a BAA with healthcare organizations, and with language service providers serving them, that use the Intalingo platform in a way that involves PHI. This page explains our approach. It isn't the agreement itself, and the signed BAA's terms govern.
What the platform provides
- Call recordings encrypted in private storage
- Recordings opened only through short-lived signed links
- Tenant isolation between organizations
- An audit log of activity
- Data export and retention controls
- Email sign-in codes on new devices
- Hosting in the United States on AWS
HIPAA compliance also depends on how each organization configures and uses the platform. Intalingo provides the safeguards and signs the BAA. See Security at Intalingo for more.
How to request a BAA
Email support@intalingo.com with your organization's name and a contact person, and we'll send our BAA for review.
